RULES AND REGULATIONS

A. ELIGIBILITY FOR CLUB PRIVILEGES

1. Permanent members of the household of a bond holder in the following categories will be eligible for club privileges upon payment of the annual dues (fees):

  • husband
  • wife
  • unmarried children/unmarried grandchildren
  • parents of husband and/or wife not gainfully employed
  • foreign students permanently residing with a family and/or exchange students involved in a bona-fide program.

2. Other permanent members of the household of a bond holder in the following categories shall be eligible for club privileges upon payment of an annual fee of $150.00 per person:

  • parent of husband or wife who is gainfully employed
  • other relatives
  • other permanent relatives not related on an individual basis as approved by the Board of Trustees.

3. Nonmembers employed by a bond holder in the following categories shall be eligible for club privileges upon payment of an annual fee of $150.00 per person:

  • nurses and/or domestics whose purpose is to supervise and/or escort a permanent household member
  • as defined in 1 and 2 above.
  • others as approved on an individual basis by the Board of Trustees.

4. Only the bond holder or his/her designee is eligible to vote.

5. The bond holder must reapply each year for club privileges for those individuals listed in 1-4, 1-5, 2 and 3 above.

6. The bond holder or spouse may serve on the Club's Board of Trustees, in a manner prescribed by the Club's By-Laws.

The nomination process shall be as follows:

  • 1.Notice shall be made in all newsletters and handouts to the general membership of positions available on the Board;

  • 2.There will be posted at the Club bulletin board: Current Board membership; Board meeting dates; if a member is interested in Board service to contact the Pool Office; the Board's interest in the comments of and attendance by the membership at Board meetings; the date of the Nominations Committee meeting in August;

  • 3.Announcements of Board openings will be made on the public address systems during days when the pool is being extensively used

  • 4.The Nominations Committee will report its recommendations to the Board at the September meeting. The Board will vote on the proposed slate at that time. If approved, the ballots will be mailed to the membership not less than 10 days, but not more than 30 days before the November meeting. If the slate is defeated, then the Nominations Committee has until the October Board meeting to present an alternative

  • 5.The ballot, when mailed to the general membership, shall include the following legend: IF YOU ARE NOT IN AGREEMENT OR ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE PROPOSED SLATE OF TRUSTEES, YOU ARE ENTITLED TO COME TO THE MEETING AND PROPOSE NOMINATIONS FROM THE FLOOR.

B. ADMISSION CARDS / GUEST TICKETS

1. Admission Cards

  • shall be issued to all persons in A above
  • are to be used only by the persons whose name appear thereon
  • are not transferable

2. Guest tickets

  • may be purchased at the pool office by any individual in A-1 above; or a member of the household with a check from the bond holder;
  • must be used for the guests of individuals in A-1 at least 13 years of age, and
  • cannot be sold or transferred.

3. Use of Admission Cards / Guest Tickets:  Guest tickets must be presented and left at the gate when entering.  Guests must be accompanied by an A-1 admission card holder 13 years or older except when they are supervising the child of a member

  • Conduct of guests is the direct responsibility of the A-1 host.
  • Loss of admission card/guest tickets should be reported at once. A service charge of $1.00 will be
  • assessed for the replacement of an admission card.
  • Misuse of admission cards and/or guest tickets will be subject to the following penalties:

First Offense - two week suspension of the club privileges by the management. Appeal may be made to the Club President.

Second Offense - referred to the Board of Trustees.

C. USE OF FACILITIES

1.General

  • All persons including guests using the club facilities do so at their own risk
  • The club is not and will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal property
  • Items of value and money should not be left in locker rooms. Such items CANNOT be checked at the pool office.
  • Paging will be done on an intercom system for emergencies only. Use of the club phone is restricted do emergencies and other club business.

2.Children

  • Minors 8 to 10 years old may be admitted to pool grounds accompanied by any responsible person (13 years or older) provided the minor is approved as a swimmer and his or her card has been signed by the manager and parent. This rule does not apply to group participation projects and functions
  • Minors between 10 and 12 years old may enter pool grounds when he or she is a responsible individual and is accompanied by a person 13 years of age or older
  • Non-approved swimmers are allowed in large pool only if supervised at all times by a responsible individual over 12 years of age. Please do not expect staff to act as "baby-sitters"
  • Children UNDER the age of 3 (three) as of opening day of the season are NOT ALLOWED in the MAIN POOL. Children over the age of 3 as of opening day of the season are allowed to use the main pool, if toilet trained. Children UNDER the age of 3 MUST WEAR DIAPERS AND TIGHT RUBBER PANTS when using the kiddie pool. Proper bathing attire must be worn at all times.
  • Use of the kiddie pool is restricted to children under 8 years of age.
  • Children in the kiddie pool MUST BE supervised by an adult.

3.Use of Pool

  • A shower must be taken before entering pool area if you intend to use the pool. Shower room facilities are to be used for necessary showers. LOITERING in locker and shower rooms and unnecessary standing under showers is PROHIBITED. Continued violation of this rule will result in the violator being asked to leave the premises. Parents are requested to caution their children regarding the practice of staying in showers unduly long
  • Cutoffs and other street clothing are not allowed to be worn in the pool
  • Diving is only permitted in designated areas
  • Persons with colds, inflamed eyes, infections, body sores or wearing bandages may be refused use of the pool. Exceptions may be made with written advice as approved by the pool management.
  • Eyeglasses shall NOT be worn in the pool except where specific prescription and doctor's letter has been filed with the manager
  • Expectorating and nose blowing in pool are prohibited
  • Large floats and other large toys are not allowed in either pool. No floats, swimming aids, etc. are permitted at any time in large pool. Hard metal and other rigid toys are not to be allowed in pool area
  • Parents/guardians are not allowed to interfere, interrupt, swim with, call out to or distract the attention of child(ren)/students(s) during scheduled swim lessons conducted by WTRC Water Safety Instructors (Mommy & Me Classes are the exception). Such activity interrupts lessons for that particular child as well as all other students and the Instructor. Parents/guardians will be advised to leave the lesson area and/or water for the duration of the lesson. Continued harassment will cause the child to be removed from that day's lesson. If the parent/guardian continues to harass the class, that child will be removed from all swim lessons for the season; the lesson slot will be given to a prospective student who has been unable to obtain a lesson position in that class.  

4.Poolside Area

  • Chairs, lounges and tables cannot be reserved for anyone. On weekends and other busy days, use of chairs and lounges are restricted to adults (over 18 years of age).
  • Private chairs and lounges are not permitted in the pool area.
  • Baby carriages and other large items are permitted on the grass areas only, behind the chaise chairs. Carriages are not permitted to be stopped on the deck area.
  • No glass containers of any type shall be permitted in pool area.
  • Food and refreshments of any kind are not allowed in the pool area. Coolers, jugs or picnic baskets are not permitted in pool area and should be stored in cars or picnic/deck areas.
  • Smoking debris must be placed in receptacles and not tossed on lawn or in the pool.
  • Running, pushing or wrestling on pool deck is extremely dangerous. Such action is prohibited in the pool area and will also be curtailed in or about all the property where it is causing a disturbance or endangering the safety and comfort of other members.

D. TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

1.     All terminations of membership in the Club must be in writing.

2.     Terminations must be sent to:

3.     The "Postmark Date" on the envelope determines your position regarding replacement by a new member.

4.     Resignation from the Club must be "ON or BEFORE" MARCH 31 (YEAR RESIGNING), so as not to be responsible for the dues and assessments for the upcoming season.

5.     No exceptions will be made.
